We are providing a service to promote the education and awareness of India’s ancient health and medical wisdom, ayurveda. Ayurveda means the knowledge or science of life. Originated from the Vedas – the source of India’s spiritual tradition, dating back to more than 5,000 years ago.
Ayurveda acknowledges the uniqueness of each individual. Employing a regimen of diet, herbs, exercise, meditation, and purification, Ayurveda provides the means for creating and maintaining a lifestyle geared towards bringing humanity into harmony and balance with our natural environment and our higher selves.
Shakti refers to the creative energy that exists in everyone and everything. Shakti is our inner force. The ability to realize our greatest potential in life. shakti ayurveda hopes to inspire its students and clients to tap into their inner source. To create their own personal Ayurvedic recipe for health, happiness, and longevity.
Here at shakti ayurveda we offer a variety of ayurvedic treatments to help in maintaining a good and healthy life. An ayurvedic consultation is always done beforehand to assess the person's present state of health, followed by advice and/or help with different treatments, herbs, yoga, meditation, lifestyle changes or by other means to bring the person back into balance with their prakruti (constitution) and hence good health. Here are some of the treatments provided at shakti ayurveda:
- ayurvedic consultations and treatments
- different styles of ayurvedic massage: shirodhara, kitzi, pain relief, relaxation, weight loss as well as other styles
- chavitti - special South Indian body massage with the feet
- panchakarma - deep purifying detox
- advice on forms of exercises or yoga
- meditation and relaxation techniques
- home remedies and advice on ways to take care of yourself along with lifestyle changes
At shakti ayurveda, we aim to provide our students with a thorough education in Ayurvedic healing modalities and medicine. The nature of ayurveda requires training based on traditional Ayurvedic theories as well as clinical training. Also, in conjunction with theories and practice of Ayurveda, we will cover the basic principles of conventional western medical concepts like anatomy and physiology.
Along with the courses we provide, shakti ayurveda will host diverse weekend seminars highlighting specific areas of interest within Ayurveda. It is highly encouraged that students who do the courses with us also take advantage of the option to participate in the 2 weeks or more hands on practical training or the option to do some of the basic or advance training in India. Arrangements will be fully organized by shakti ayurveda in conjunction with Ayurvedic physicians.
