Art show at Galería LUCIA

Artists Siân Kirkby from England and Enrique Linaza from Málaga, Spain jointly show a selection of their new works at the Galería LUCIA, Calle Maestra Ángeles Aspiazú in Fuengirola.

Enrique: “When we write about art, or about love, it is hard to explain in words what it is that affects our feelings. It happens that a person or a work of art attracts us and we can´t explain why. Usually it has something to do with our memories, our previous experiences and with our deepest wishes. Like butterfly´s wings.”

Siân: Thoughts, ideas and dreams appear on the canvas. I love exploring the texture of paint, capturing colour, light and detail, exploring abstract ideas, seeing the way form takes shape through the medium. It’s always an adventure.

The AIA-Group was formed five years ago by professional and dedicated visual artists from around Europe, who are all living and working in Andalucía.

Reception and meet the Artists: Friday 05/02, 19:00. Drinks and canapés.

Gallery open: Daily 13-16 and 19-21, except Sundays.

Exhibition: February 05 – March 01, 2010.

International Art Show in Ojén May 2009

jeremy-lennon-ojen-art

Ojén, the picturesque whitewashed mountain village behind Puerto Banús, already has a reputation for being the artistic centre of the Marbella region. Two internationally renowned artists, painter Jeremy Lennon who lives and works in Ojen and sculptor Sergio Aguilar Paz, are holding an exhibition from Friday 22 May to Monday 25 May which will give art lovers a very special reason to visit or revisit the town.

Jeremy was educated at the Slade School of Art in London and then travelled throughout Europe in the footsteps of famous artists. He moved to southern Spain in 1984 and has achieved success with exhibitions in leading galleries in Spain and the UK. Jeremy’s paintings are lyrical interpretations of the surrounding landscape.

Sergio was born in Chile studying architecture and fine art at Santiago University. His sculptures are in many private collections and he has exhibited in major galleries in the USA and throughout Europe including Madrid, Stockholm and Germany. Sergio’s sculptures invoke both naturalistic and interpretative styles with fine lines and patination.

Exposición de Arte, Calle Alhambra 12, Ojén, Casco Antiguo. 18.00 to 22.00 Friday 22 May and all day everyday Saturday 23, Sunday 24 and Monday 25 May.
