A foundation is being set up to save the English Cemetery in Málaga which has been the subject of vandalism and the effects of the botellón street drinking parties every weekend.
The Cemetery was originally a donation from Málaga City Hall to allow Protestants to be buried in a proper place and not upright on the beach which had been the previous case.
The British Consulate for Málaga, Bruce McIntyre, has confirmed that the Foundation is nearly established, with just the NIF number still awaited. It is being promoted by the Consulate and consists of three Spanish and three British members.
Councillor for Culture in the City Hall, Diego Maldonado, has indicated that the Council will continue to collaborate.
