How long have you lived in Spain and how long is your business established?
[ Barry ] I moved to spain 7 years ago and established Marbella Dream Estates 5 years ago
Why did you choose Marbella?
[ Barry ] Apart from the obvious, mainly because of its cosmopolitan attitudes.
Tell us your greatest business or personal accomplishment?
[ Barry ] I used to be former owner and Managing director of a car dealer ship in the channel islands, one summers day 8 years ago, a man dressed all in black with two body guards and a PA walked into my car showroom and purchased 28 Mercedes benz top of the range cars from my company, it was my biggest ever sale in 20yrs in the retail motor industry, what I didnt realise was he was a former pin ball technician from Adelaide South Australia, whos fortunes had changed to become a very famous computer software inventor, whos company was subsequntly bought out by Microsoft US for 168 million US$, we never made eye contact and I never asked why and what the cars were for, unfortunatley he died tragically, two weeks after the sale, in a Maclaron F1 the fastest road production sports car in the world.
Now my motto in life is, live for today!!!! You never know what tommorrow brings.
Incidently all the cars were black.
Why would you recommend the Costa del Sol for business and Lifestyle?
[ Barry ] Stones throw away from all uk and major european airports, second language is predominantly English, enjoys one of the highest daily sunshine records in europe, clean beaches, cosmopolitan night life and culinary dining.
If you could change one thing about Spain, what would it be?
[ Barry ] Can I name two? The monopoly of telefonica and the moderation of drivers and there car horns.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
[ Barry ] Intellectual, competitive and tolerant.
What is your favourite Restaurant in Marbella?
[ Barry ] Tough one!! Has to be the recently opened Magna Marbella Golf Club Restaurant..
What is the last film you saw at the Cinema or DVD?
[ Barry ] U2 live concert in chicago
What advice would you give to someone moving to Spain?
[ Barry ] Learn spanish, hire a reputable lawyer, expensive!! But will save you alot more in the long haul, leave no stone unturned.
Name one other business you would recommend on the Costa Del Sol and why?
