How long have you lived in Spain and how long is your business established?
[ Masha ] I have lived in Spain since 1997. The first few years I focused on raising my daughter and getting my graduate degree in Teaching and Training Online as well as training certificates in Accelerated Learning Techniques and Transformational Thinking. I've had my business for 4 years now.
Why did you choose Marbella?
[ Masha ] My husband and I were ready to start a family and we decided this was the best place for it!

Tell us your greatest business AND personal accomplishment?
[ Masha ] PERSONAL: Overcoming self-doubt and low self-esteem and having the courage to go after my dreams!
BUSINESS: Our ICON Corporate Training Company was one of the first to deliver workshops online – a concept I came up with to create a niche in the competitive business of training. It was a great success! Imagine… 9 executives from 8 countries in different parts of the world, all together learning and sharing their concerns and experiences with each other - live! Amazing! What was also amazing is that we managed to put the whole project together in just 6 short weeks!
Why would you recommend the Costa del Sol for business and Lifestyle?
[ Masha ] The Lifestyle here is hard to beat! Sunny most of the time with beautiful nature and plenty of places to eat and have fun! This is not the easiest of places to start a new business, but if you already have an established business and want to target this market or you can work long-distance, then this is a perfect place for it.
If you could change one thing about Spain, what would it be?
[ Masha ] Actually, I would not change anything. Even things that annoy me at times give Spain, Costa Del Sol, its charm and make it what it is – easy-going (too much sometimes); fun and family oriented (they love their siestas and fiestas!); great Mediterranean food; and sun, sun, sun! :o)

What is your favourite Restaurant in Marbella?
[ Masha ] My favorite restaurant is on the way to Mijas Pueblo. It is called Val Paraiso and combines excellent Italian food with entertainment and dancing. I enjoyed many romantic dinners there in the last 8 years!
What is the last film you saw at the Cinema AND DVD?
[ Masha ] At the Cinema I watched Ice Age 2 with my 2 daughters. On DVD it was Roman Holiday (with Audrey Hepburn.)
What advice would you give to someone moving to Spain?
[ Masha ] Don’t rush into it. Do your research before buying something or starting a business. I believe it is better to rent first and look around. Meet the right people; understand the local mentality and how people do business here.
