Asthma Health Centres Costa del Sol

PATIENTS suffering from a range of respiratory problems, such as asthma - which affects both children and adults - and chronic pulmonary disease, will be able to turn up for check-ups at any of the existing 12 health centres in Costa del Sol.

According to a report from the health authority, more than 8,800 sufferers will benefit from this measure. The figures from the health district speak for themselves. I

n the first quarter of the year, the 12 health centres recorded 3,000 cases of child asthma and 5,500 cases in the adult population.

The objective of this new initiative is to improve awareness within the medical profession, through an intensive programme of training in primary health-care.

According to the health district, hundreds of doctors and nurses have recently been sent on training courses involving practical and theoretical workshops, run by specialists from the Virgen de la Victoria, Costa del Sol and Benalmadena Hospitals.
