A 42 year old British man has been arrested in Marbella, after he allegedly broke into a home in Mijas, hit the owner with a baseball bat, and threatened her and her sister with a gun.

The woman was with her sister in the garden of her home on the Urbanisation La Ponderosa in Mijas, when they were attacked by two men, who sprayed them with an aerosol, before hitting and threatening them.

The men fled in a four wheel drive vehicle, which the Civil Guard later located near the Aloha shopping centre in Marbella. The driver was taken into custody.

The man has been named by police with the initials S.H.S. and is the owner of a real estate business in Marbella.
