Cartama recently held another edition of the Cartamaeco Ecological Market in an attempt to bring local people closer to ecological products.
The market will be held on the first Sunday of every month, from 10am to 2.30 pm in Avenida de Andalucia next to the Estacion de Cartama market, on Urbanizacion Chaves, opposite the petrol station.
The market also aims to encourage local people to grow ecological products, free from chemical substances, thus allowing them to conserve their authentic taste as well as keeping for longer as they contain less water. Ecological farming also reduces energy costs and enriches the earth.
Some twenty farmers will be presenting a wide variety of their goods including honey, vegetables, fruit, eggs, cheese, bread, sausages and cosmetics which visitors will be able to buy directly from the producers. It is hoped that this will be beneficial for local economy as the added value of the product stays in the town, and prevents farmers from depending on larger food companies. |
