THE Torremolinos Trade Fair and Congress Centre hosted the ‘Euroal 2008’ Latin American and European Tourism, Art and Culture fair from Thursday May 29 to June 1, with 21 countries represented at 61 stands, and four days of promotion, conferences and debates about the current situation of the international tourism market.
Some 9,600 people visited the fair which is in its third edition and doubled the amount of business contacts made in previous years.
Entrance was free and visitors enjoyed projections, exhibitions, promotional items, folklore and handicrafts from the participating countries. The stands at Euroal were both spectacular and interesting, most of them gathering visitors who flocked to find out more about destinations such as Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, Dominican Republic, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador, Belize, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala, Poland, Slovenia, Portugal, Spain and Egypt.
The representatives were friendly and willing to offer any information they could about their countries or businesses, as well as handing out gifts and treats, much to the delight of the public.
This year, some 20.6 per cent of visitors were professionals from the world of tourism, both national and international.
The fair was inaugurated by the Mayor of Torremolinos, Pedro Fernandez Montes, who welcomed businessmen and women from all over the world at the inaugural speech and invited them to enjoy not only the fair but all that Torremolinos has to offer. |
