A 48-YEAR-OLD paediatrician from Malaga who worked at the Arroyo de la Miel Health Centre in Benalmadena has been arrested by the Guardia Civil and sent to prison on remand without bail after pornographic material involving minors was found in his possession.
He appeared before Instruction Judge Number 1 in Malaga and is charged with corruption of minors. Instruction Court Number 3 in Ciudad Real will be dealing with the case as the arrest was carried out as part of an operation codenamed ‘Tambor’ during which two other men, aged 57 and 33, were arrested in Salamanca and Almeria respectively, also for owning and distributing child pornography.
The investigation began when an anonymous call to the Technological Investigation Team (EDITE) of the Guardia Civil in Ciudad alerted them that after having downloaded a file which was supposed to be about ‘How to play the guitar’ a man had found child pornography on it.
After confirming this fact, the Guardia Civil located the people who were distributing the pornographic material and four homes were searched, leading the officers to find the computers which had been used to hold and upload the content, which was stored on 700 CDs and DVDs, pen drives and hard drives.
In the case of the Benalmadena paediatrician, whose home was searched by the Women’s and Minors Team (Emume), he was found to possess thousands of photos and videos of children under 13, many of which contained scenes of violence and humiliation. |
