MALAGA Provincial Court has sentenced a woman to four years in prison for stabbing her brother’s ex-girlfriend in the side and face in January 2007.
It is reported that the victim was sitting on a motorbike with a friend when the attacker got out of a car and threatened to kill her. The victim managed to escape but the woman caught up with her, stabbed her several times and told her to keep quiet about the attack.
During the trial, the defendant changed her statement and claimed it had been the victim that had threatened to kill her and her children, but the testimony of a protected witness resulted in her being found guilty. She is also forbidden from coming within 300 metres of the victim or communicating with her for six years. In additin, she will have to pay 29,298 euros compensation for the injuries she caused, which are said to have considerably altered the victim’s appearance.
