MALAGA Public Prosecutor’s Office is asking for 20 years in prison for a woman accused of killing her husband, and 25 years each for her two accomplices.
Apparently the woman, who suffered constant abuse from her husband, met someone at work and told this person that she was saving money to pay for her husband to be killed.
They then contacted another man, who agreed to carry out the deed for money. The woman withdrew 6,000 euros from her bank account and 9,000 from the account of the company where she worked.
The hired killer then bought a gun, for which he did not have a licence, and visited the victim’s home on the day agreed with his wife, who had put sleeping pills in his drink.
The killer approached the sleeping man but was allegedly unable to bring himself fire the shot. However, the victim’s wife grabbed the gun and shot her husband in the head at close range, killing him immediately.
She later admitted this in a statement to the police.
The woman now faces 20 years in prison for murder and six months for carrying an unlicenced weapon, as well as one year for possession of marihuana plants and three months for stealing.
Her two male accomplices face 25 years each in prison for murder and one year each for firearm possession.
The three will come before a people’s jury in Malaga court on June, 16. |
