Sunday, April 02, 2006
Spain, which enjoys the second largest number of tourists in the world, has decided to set up an office of its tourism department in Mumbai by next year as the number of visitors from India continues to grow.
Spain also expects direct flights between the two countries very soon, with negotiations between the two governments for a new air services agreement at an advanced stage.
The director of the National Tourist Office of Spain for South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and India, said more than 83,000 Indians booked flights to Spain in 2005 even though there is no direct link between the two countries.
